There is nothing noble or superior about failing to finish a piece of writing. It’s simply a failure, and that’s all. Your job is to avoid that failure. Good things start happening when you get into the habit of not failing to execute on opportunities. Towards my mid-30′s I lost all patience with noble failures. They aren’t modest enough. They think they’re too good to do work and be judged for it, and they aren’t.
